Baby Blues

This weeks theme at I Heart Faces is "Beautiful Eyes."  How could I not enter a photo of my sweet middle girl and her gorgeous baby blues?

Last week we had a little outing down to San Diego and I took advantage of the setting to take some 5 year old shots of my girl.  We have a tradition of photos in a white dress when you turn five.  I'm only six months behind :) But, they were totally worth the wait.

This shot is SOOC.  Yes, her eyes really are *that* blue!

I heart my water babies!

I had planned to do a recap of the last part of our big trip but instead decided to link up with the photo challenge over at Iheartfaces! I couldn't resist when I heard the challenge was "water."  One of my favorite photos from our trip was at at a waterpark in Wisconsin.  Skylar had SO MUCH FUN! Right after I snapped this shot, she said, "Mommy, my cheeks hurt from smiling so much! But it's ok!"

This one is SOOC.  I didn't want to mess with pure joy!

I heart the faces of 2010

It's been a while since I entered a challenge at I Heart Faces, but I thought this week would be fun.
I love each and every little face in our house, but this picture just melts me.
This photo is SOOC (straight out of the camera) and I wouldn't dare touch it.
Her eyes really are that blue (and her face really is that sweet).

Hop on over to Iheartfaces.com and see some other "favorite faces" from the past year.
Don't forget to vote. :)

I heart apple orchards!

This weeks theme at I heart Faces is "In the Orchard."

We haven't been to an apple orchard this year so this is a picture from our last visit.  Skylar loved eating apples right from the tree.  Just looking at the photos from our trip made me realize how much she has grown!
Go to I Heart Faces and check out all the other "Orchard" pictures!

I heart chalk!

This weeks theme over at I Heart Faces is "Fun with Chalk!" We play with chalk a lot.  I have tons of pictures where the girls are covered in chalk, but this one is especially sweet for me! Reagan was tracing Bailey's hands and they were just enjoying each other's company.  It's these moments that I cherish and pray for them to just stay little.

Ugh!

I spent over an hour looking for a "smirking" photo, only to realize that I just missed the cutoff for the IHeartFaces challenge.  Bummer! But I'm going to post it here anyway.  It's a cute shot and worthy of sharing.  Enjoy!

We heart the beach!

If you follow our blog, you will recognize this photo. It's one of my favorites from one of our beach trips this summer.  Skylar LOVES the beach and it just shows all over her face in this one.  I might add that she added the headband....not me. :)

I heart purple

I wasn't originally going to participate in this week's challenge over at Iheartfaces, but I thought I would look through my photos just in case.  I realized two things:
1. My girls wear a LOT of blue or pink.
2. My girls don't wear a lot of purple.

I did find one picture of my two year old in a purple sweater that I loved! She's so deep in thought....

If you want to see more "purple" shots...head on over to I Heart Faces!

Bubble blowing Bub

This weeks theme over at "I heart Faces" is "play."  My kids play all the time but this one wasn't as easy I thought it would be.  There were SO many to choose from!
In the end, I chose one of my nephew (nicknamed Bub) that I haven't shared before.  He was blowing bubbles for the girls on Easter.

heart and sole

You know I'm a big fan of "I Heart Faces" and love to participate in their weekly photo challenge.  I also love when people do things that are bigger than themselves; for the greater good.

It just so happens that this week at iheartfaces, they are teaming up with an organization with a passion for the greater good.  It's called Soles 4 Souls.

So, this weeks theme at I Heart Faces is obviously....feet.  I instantly thought of a recent photo I took of a friend's daughter.  She was baptized at our church and my friend asked me to photograph the event for her.  I got plenty of great shots of the actual baptism, but I loved the shot I got of her feet after she got out of the water.  She was dripping wet and I just thought of the verse "How beautiful are the feet of them.." so I added it to the bottom.

And because there are no restrictions on number of photos this week, I thought I would show you a picture of her actual baptism. Such a beautiful day for a beautiful girl.

Hop on over to I Heart Faces and see a bunch of feet :D

I heart this smiling face

This week's challenge over at "I heart Faces" is simply "smiles."  My girls offer lots of smiles, but this one is my recent favorites, so i had to share.  I posted one similar to it on here last weekend, but this is the picture I took right after.  This is her "ok I'll smile for the camera, but this is as good as my smile is going to get mommy" look.  :D

I heart black and white photo drama!

This weeks theme over at I Heart Faces is "Dramatic Black and White."
I'm not a professional so I don't aim for the "dramatic" capture with a serious face, so I went a different route with this theme.  I have three girls.  Each day is filled with drama.  Especially the day I took this photo.  I had made a chocolate cake with chocolate ganache frosting.  I left the icing on the counter and went to answer the phone. When I came back, half the bowl was missing.  I asked Skylar if she had eaten the chocolate frosting and she said "no" but I was pretty certain she was not telling the truth.....

Head on over to "I heart faces" and check out more "black and white drama".

iheartfaces bundled up!

This photo challenge this week at iheartfaces is "bundled up."  It just so happens I got some great shots when we went to the snow in January.  I heart all 3 of my bundled little blessings, but this face just cracked me up! It was her first time ever touching the snow and she LOVED it!! Until she got wet....and cold...and kept falling over.  Then she was done.

Precious Hands

I know, two posts in one day! But I almost missed out on this weeks theme at IheartFaces!

This weeks theme is all about "hands on" and doesn't have to include a face.  It's just a bonus that mine still does have one!  And isn't it the sweetest little face?  This is Reagan, at 3 days old.  She was a month early so she was teeny tiny.  I love how giant her daddy's hand look next to hers....

I heart kissy faces

The theme this week over at "I heart faces" is "we heart kisses."
This picture is not recent, but it's still one of my absolute favorites.  My girls were being especially sweet to one another.  This one just melts my heart.

I heart this face

This weeks photo challenge at Iheartfaces is to post your favorite "face" photo from December or January. This one is Bailey on Christmas morning.  She was so wide-eyed when she saw all the gifts!

I heart Faces (and tooshies!)

This weeks theme cracks me up! I didn't think I had any "tooshie" pictures, but I did come across this one that I just love.  This is Reagan, at almost a year old.  She loved to be outside so when she wasn't able to go out, she would just stand at the back door and look.  My favorite part is that she pulled up so fast, she usually crawled her little legs right out of her jammies! Enjoy!

Head on over to I Heart Faces and see everyone else's (totally appropriate and clothed) tooshies!

I heart Faces Sun Flare Challenge

I am so excited about this week's theme over at "I Heart Faces"! I actually read the "sun flare" tutorial before taking my girls' Christmas pictures, so when I placed them on the bridge and saw that the sun was behind them, I tried every which way to get some "flare" into my photos.  Of course I was shooting with a Canon so according to the Boybarian Dad, (author of the sun flare tutorial, and owner of a Nikon), these are not nearly as good as they could have been.  :D This is one of my favorites from that day.  I love that Bailey has her little hands in her pockets (she was not even posed to do that!).  Their expressions are just natural because daddy was being silly behind me.  I even ordered a few of these prints with the caption "May your Days be Merry and Bright!" on them.  Enjoy!

I heart faces Autumn Beauty

This weeks theme over at "I heart faces" is "Autumn Beauty."  I don't normally participate because I'm so new to this photography thing, but the theme this week made me think of our pumpkin patch pictures, so I'm diving in! It was hard choosing just one photo, but this one is just a favorite.  Enjoy!
